looks like there’s a bit of a fracas going over at jpg magazine. one of the founders of the magazine posted this about why he is leaving the magazine. digg picked up on it and there’s a thread over on flickr about it(another thread here on staying with the magazine). it looks like quite a few people have cancelled their subscriptions and quit jpg. i have an account there but have never uploaded any pictures. i’ve had mixed feelings about the magazine. i like the idea behind it, but don’t always care for the end result. the cynic in me sees alot of the response from the magazine as no more than damage control(or people just trying to keep their jobs) and some of the arguments for still supporting the magazine sometimes border on “they’re publishing my picture so i’ll support them” which i can understand but still seems a bit unprincipled or greedy or something.
